6 rules to maintain the health of your kidneys
The kidneys are organs that are in the lower back part. The best-known function of the kidneys is to make urine, but has other very important too. These include: maintaining and controlling blood pressure, maintaining the balance of minerals and acids from the blood, remove waste substances from the body and maintain healthy bones. Eat healthy and exercise: The kidneys are responsible for metabolizing toxins we produce while we live. If you eat junk food, the overload. People with diabetes or high blood pressure should maintain good control of these diseases to decrease the risk of complications that are not only kidney, but also the heart, brain and many other organs. You can take care of these diseases by eating a healthy diet low in carbohydrates, fat and salt, and exercising regularly. Do not forget to take medications as directed by your doctor.
Eat plenty of liquids: For kidneys is important for the body to stay well hydrated. If you do not consume enough fluids, the kidneys can not do their job. There is no minimum amount of water needed for everyone, it depends on the weather and physical activity for everyone. People in warm climates and who exercise need more fluids than people in cold climates and sedentary people.
Avoid drugs and drugs: Some drugs sold over the counter, such as anti-inflammatory, can cause kidney disease (especially if used for a long time), so it is not advisable to self-medicate. Illicit drugs also can damage kidney function, another good reason not to eat them.
Do not smoke: Smoking is a common cause of cancer not only in the lung but also in other organs such as the larynx, pharynx, bladder, stomach and kidneys. People who smoke have a higher risk of reduced kidney function. If you have other risks of kidney disease, such as diabetes, hypertension or obesity, it is important not to smoke or quit.
Go to a medical examination at least once a year: Unfortunately, kidney disease rarely give us any symptoms in its early stages and only do so in the in the later stages. Only be detected by blood tests and urine or to be examined by a doctor. The earlier you detect kidney disease, the easier it is to treat, control and contain it. So it is advisable to get a checkup at least once a year and remember that kidney disease can occur at any age.
